650,000 zlotys for 125 local associations in "You Choose, We Help" programme

In the third edition of the "You Choose, We Help" scheme, Poles gave over 4.8 million votes and selected 125 most interesting social projects. Local associations will receive PLN 5,000 grants, that will enable them to put into practice their ideas on how to improve local communities.

The third edition of the programme was very popular. Across the country, Tesco customers voted over 4.8 million times for social projects. Thus, they have selected 125 of the most interesting ideas to be realised through grants. The winning projects focus on, among other things, education, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, revitalisation of urban spaces and the activation of the elderly.

Customers from Silesian voivodeship were the most active, as they gave a total of 831,617 votes. Also this region will implement the highest number of projects: 18 ideas for local communities.

For the third time we saw a proof that it is worth to engage in mobilising local communities. The organisations surprised us with a great deal of local know-how and a variety of submitted projects. We are proud to give grants to these organsations. We know that thanks to these projects many great things will happen across Poland, says Katarzyna Michalska-Miszczyk, Head of the Tesco Foundation.

For the purposes of the program, the map of Poland was divided into 125 microregions. Social organisations and informal groups submitted nearly five hundred projects, of which the jury selected 339 finalists. From 3rd to 31st October they fought for 125 grants worth PLN 650,000 in total.

This edition of the program showed that many great people want to engage in local communities' lives. In our opinion all the ideas submitted were exceptional, and we are looking forward to the implementation of projects, says Adam Chabiera from the "Stocznia" Research and Social Innovation Laboratory, a partner of the program.
