375 projects will receive grants in 5th edition of "You Choose, We Help" programme
For the fifth time, Tesco Poland launches a grant scheme to support local communities. From October 8th, active organisations have a chance to obtain funding for the implementation of social projects as a part of “You Choose, We Help” programme.
Since 2016, Tesco Polska, with the support of the Tesco Foundation and the Centre for Social Innovation and Research “Shipyard”, supports active residents, institutions and non-governmental organisations by implementing the "You Choose, We Help" programme. During two years of the scheme, local activists introduced 815 social projects that influenced the modernisation of their areas.
Three times more help
For the purpose of the program, Poland has been divided into microregions, within which organizations will compete for co-financing their activities. In each of them three social initiatives will receive financial support. The ideas for local activities can be submitted using the form available at www.tesco.pl/pomagamy from October 8 to November 18, 2018.
“Active residents are our driving force for action, and seeing such a positive reception of the programme - our motivation is growing. As Tesco team, we are proud that Poles are involved with such a huge commitment in activities that have a positive impact on their environments. We believe that even the smallest gesture is of great importance, therefore we will reward not one, but three social projects in each region”, says Daria Kulińska, Head of Communications at Tesco Poland.
Improve your surroundings
The programme is open to everyone. Both a non-governmental organisation, a social cooperative, a public institution, as well as a group of residents that actively works in the local community can submit an idea for a neighbourhood project. The subject of the projects submitted is very wide. Initiatives may include education of children and young people, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, refreshment of urban spaces, activation of older people, actions for animals and the environment, nurturing local traditions or other areas for which residents want to have more influence.
From among the ideas submitted, in each of the microregions, the Grant Commission will select three projects that will go to the next stage. Every organisation that reaches the voting stage, will win. Whether the grant will be PLN 5,000, 3,000 or 1,000 will be decided by the residents, voting in their Tesco store.
